The Viking Quest series
Briana O’Toole (Bree) felt that her life was going to change on her 13th birthday. What she did not realize is how drastically this change would be for herself and her whole village. Viking marauders kidnap her and her brother, Devin, and take them to their Viking ship. Both children must figure out how to fight for their freedom, while still trusting that God knows what is happening and has a plan for their lives.
Devin was set free while they were still on Irish soil, but their captor, Mikkel, son of a Norwegian chieftain, refused to let Bree go. He takes her to Norway, intent on keeping her as his slave. But Bree and Devin's courage puzzles Mikkel, and who is this God they serve, a God that loves His children?
When Mikkel sets out on a voyage to Greenland, he promises that he will set Bree and Devin free after one voyage. But the years drag by as they discover and explore new lands with Lief Erikson. Will Mikkel have enough courage to live out his newfound faith and take Bree and Devin home, even if it might cost his life and his dreams?
This is a very engaging series, although the characters can have some bad tempers in times of anger and annoyance. Also, during the end of the series, there is some romance.
