Psalm 32
Of David, a contemplative song.
Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is pardoned.
Blessed is the one whose guilt ADONAI does not count, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
When I kept silent, my bones became brittle through my groaning all day long.
For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me. My strength was drained as in the droughts of summer. Selah
Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not hide my iniquity. I said: ''I confess my transgressions to ADONAI,'' and You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah
So let everyone who is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found. When great floodwaters rise, they will not reach him.
You are my hiding place - You will protect me from distress. You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
''I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will give counsel - My eye is on you.
Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding, and must be held in with bit and bridle or they will not come to you.''
Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but lovingkindness surrounds the one who trusts in ADONAI.
Be glad in ADONAI and rejoice, you righteous, and shout for joy, all who are upright in heart.
Take some time to ponder over this Psalm today. Think about the forgiveness and love Abba has towards us. Think about how He gathers us into His arms for a tight hug when we come to Him in repentance, teshuva (repenting and then doing a complete about-face and walking in the other direction) and His free forgiveness for our sins. For He knows us. Picture Him as a father who stays by your side, who kneels down in front of you and smiles at you all the time, and cries with you when you fall. Picture Him picking you up and holding you tight against His chest, saying, ''I love you, My child. It's all alright. I'm here. I've got you.''
If we turn to Him, the floodwaters won't harm us. He is our hiding place through every storm. He surrounds us with songs of deliverance! Sing those songs of deliverance! Sing!
He will teach us. He teaches us! His eyes never leave us. He is smiling with us and laughing with us. Trust in His love. He's got this. He loves you!
There is a very good prayer/repentance/focus pointer that my family and I have been very blessed with. It is so important for us to really open our eyes to what is going on around us and be aware of where we've come from. I would highly recommend checking out this website, although aimed mainly at Christians, is still, in my opinion, highly relevent to us.
Be blessed!
