Colour Palettes

Foreword: this is what I do when choosing my colour palettes, I am still learning but this is what I have found to be quite helpful with my art and I hope it can bless you!

Here are some of the more common palettes.

The first one is great for backgrounds or things that you don't want to draw too much attention to. As you can see in the drawing below, the background's colour palette is red, pink and purple. However, if you were to make a main focus something that consists of this kind of colour palette I advice you add a lot of contrast through the shading.

The second and third ones work well for making something stand out. If something has a lot of contrast you are naturally drawn to it. In my artwork you can see that I used blue and orange. Since blue and orange are right next to the colours I used for the background it helped them look like they still belong in the drawing as opposed to how green and red would have looked.

No matter what colour palette you end up using for what, a good rule is if you want something to stand out add contrast (as you can see I used a dark blue with a light orange) to make something stand outand lower to contrast for background elements.

That's all for today and I hope it helps!

Bye.
